What is The 1 Minute Rule?

When writing your story, you want to be able to hook your reader immediately and become invested in your story. How do you of that on the first and second page?

The 1 Minute Rule needs to have the following:

  1. The event that causes the character’s misbelief
  2. Their desire and fear (internal conflict) and their values
  3. A change or challenge that pushed the character out of their comfort zone
